Note

Be sure to only make changes to your school’s content

  1. Navigate to http://pwsddisplays01. Enter the OneLan URL, and enter username and password provided by IT.

  2. On the menu bar, click “Playlists”, then move your mouse down to your school abbreviation which will open a sub-menu.  Click on “Main Display” (or “/Main Left/” or “/Main Right/”) in the sub-menu.

  3. You may need to navigate to the proper folder.  Click on the “Files & Folders” tab in the middle of the screen, and that the “Folder:” says “/HOME/media/” followed by the school abbreviation, then “/Main Display/” (or “/Main Left/” or “/Main Right/”).  You will see the files listed which are currently being displayed.  Clicking the red circle with the ‘X’ to the left of an item will delete it, removing it from being displayed on the screen once the changes are published.

  4. Now click the “Upload Files” tab, OR simply drag and drop your media files into the file area.  You should note that the “Folder:” should reflect that you are in your school’s folder.  Click the “Choose File” button, pick your file, and then click the “Upload File” button.  It will automatically take you back to the list of files.  Your new file will have been placed alphabetically among the other files.  Currently there is no way to change the order of the files, but you can name files in such a way that you force an order (numbering for example)

  5. When all changes have been made (files uploaded and deleted), the “Playlist” needs to be activated.  Underneath the menu bar, there will be a button labelled “Activate Schedule and Layouts”, which needs to be clicked.

  6. The channel needs to be published now.  Click “Channels” on the menu bar, then choose “Manage Channels”

  7. The new page will have a list of channels, with several buttons beside each. Beside the channel for your school, click the button which looks like a globe with a yellow arrow to publish the channel. Clicking this button will cause the system to offer all the new content to the subscribers attached to the displays.  The displays will “reset” and show the new content within about a half hour.
