Ensure that the account shown is the correct account for you to apply MFA to.

Ā

Follow the prompts onscreen. if you have not downloaded the app, do so by using the link on screen. if you want to use a text (I recommend the app) select ā€˜I want to set up a different methodā€™. the rest of the setup experience will be a little different for you though.

Open the Microsoft Authenticator App ( on your phone) and setup a new account.

Ā

it is usually signified by a plus sign towards the top right of the app.

Choose: Work or School account

When prompted select ā€˜scan QR codeā€™.

On your computer screen select ā€˜nextā€™ to get the QR code from Microsoft.

Scan the QR code with your phone app.

Ā

Approve the trial from the setup process and the web page should look as below.

Ā

If so select ā€˜next' and you should transition to a web page indicating your setup was successful.

Then return to PWPSD MFA registration form page and choose ā€˜yesā€™ in answer to the first question. You will then see a second question: answer ā€˜yesā€™ and submit.

If you want to add another option for MFA for your account (i.e SMS/text or the app if you opted for SMS/text initially) go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to add them.
