Transportation Dept PWPSD MFA Registration Setup

PWPSD now requires the use of Multifactor Authentication (MFA) for staff.

The ‘Microsoft Authenticator App' is recommended as your authenticator app for your phone. Please download this app to your phone just prior to starting your MFA setup. NOTE: Just download it - do not do anything else until you have started your setup.

PWPSD MFA form detailed walkthrough

Please note: This process may differ slightly depending on your device and what you may have set up in the past. The onscreen instructions will lead you through.

Open and read or print this document before beginning your setup as it walks you through the whole setup.

To begin your sign up use the PWPSD MFA registration form PWPSD MFA Registration.

This is best done from a browser on a computer/Chromebook/tablet with your phone beside you to be used as the authentication method.

This form will begin the process of enrolling you in Microsoft’s MFA platform (we have transitioned to use Microsoft MFA even with google). You will need a mobile device of some sort and as part of the process you will be prompted to download the appropriate app. You must complete the process once started, so make sure you have 15-20 minutes with limited distractions before starting. Nothing takes effect until you select ‘yes’ to question 2 of the form. Once you do though, if it is not configured, you will be unable to sign in to your accounts without it.

Once you have gone through the setup process it can be updated by going to your security info settings in Microsoft https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info . Please note that it is mandatory once you are signed in and you will be locked out of your account if you were to remove all MFA from your account following signup. The process will ‘lead you' towards apps that work for this process. I recommend the ‘Microsoft Authenticator App'. There are other apps that can be used instead if that is your preference though.
