PAT Information

Questions asked by IT:

How many students are writing each of the Part A’s (ELA 6, ELA 9)?
How many students require tech accommodations for each (ELA 6, ELA 9, Others, Part A/B)?
Which Some questions IT will need answered to have everything ready:

  • Will you be using Chromebooks for the written ELA 6, 9 Part A tests?

    • If so, what printers will students be printing to?

  • For each exam:

    • How many will be using regular accounts?

    • How many students will be using the MP3 accommodations for each of the PATs?

Part B

For part B, This is a pretty big question mark right now. the new vretta( https://abed.vretta.com) system is unclear to us. For the time being we are sticking with paper for the multiple choice.

There are two account types, the standard accounts like ‘hbspat005@s.pwpsd.ca’ and the accommodation accounts like ‘hbspatacc005@s.pwpsd.ca’. The latter allows text to speech, speech to text, and will have the relevant MP3 files accessible in the ‘Shared with me’ section of Google Drive. These MP3s can be played using the blue ‘Files’ app, and the spreadsheet containing all the usernames and passwords has notes indicating which acc accounts will have which MP3s. If it just has a Grade listed with no detail on the specific test, it means all the accounts with the Grade # will get the proper MP3s on each test day.Some questions IT will need answered to have everything ready:

For students to log onto the accounts, they must completely log out of their own account and then click ‘Add Person’. They then click the ‘Enter Google account info' at the bottom right.

After entering the username, the student may might receive a Captcha to prove they are not a bot. They can just click the button/link which says "Try another way" in order to continue.  It will look similar but not exactly like this:
