Do that. Select ‘use QR code’ when prompted THEN hit next to go to the previous screen with the QR code. (it will generate a new qr code that is not timed out). Scan that qr code within the Microsoft Authenticator app (and during the set up a new account process). It should report a success and an account with your pwpsd email will be set up.
