Start by clicking on this link: https://aka.ms/mfasetup

Ensure that the account shown is the correct account for you to apply MFA to.

Follow the prompts onscreen. if you have not downloaded the app, do so by using the link on screen. if you want to use a text (I recommend the app) select ‘I want to set up a different method’. the rest of the setup experience will be a little different for you though.

Open the Microsoft Authenticator App ( on your phone) and setup a new account.

it is usually signified by a plus sign towards the top right of the app.

Choose: Work or School account

When prompted select ‘scan QR code’.

On your computer screen select ‘next’ to get the QR code from Microsoft.

Scan the QR code with your phone app.

Approve the trial from the setup process and the web page should look as below.

If so select ‘next' and you should transition to a web page indicating your setup was successful.

Then return to PWPSD MFA registration form page and choose ‘yes’ in answer to the first question. You will then see a second question: answer ‘yes’ and submit.

If you want to add another option for MFA for your account (i.e SMS/text or the app if you opted for SMS/text initially) go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to add them.
